Opus Quad memory cue comments

On the Opus Quad I can only view memory cue comments while scrolling through the cues using Shift plus Track Search. The comments don't appear during playback as they do on some CDJ/XDJ units. Is there a setting in Rekordbox I can change to fix this, or is the functionality not there? If not, could this be addressed by a firmware update? Any help much appreciated!

I'd love to see this implemented more seamlessly—any chance this is planned for future updates?

Have you tried the latest firmware update for your Opus Quad and checked out the options in Rekordbox? How important do you think the ability to display memory cue comments during playback is to your DJ workflow?

There is no information indicating that there is a relevant setting in Rekordbox to solve this problem. It is also not clear whether this functionality can be achieved through a firmware update. It is recommended that you check the official Pioneer DJ website or contact their customer support for the latest information on the Opus Quad's features and software updates. You can also try reaching out to the Pioneer DJ user community to see if other users have encountered the same issue and found a solution.

If displaying realtime commentary is important to your workflow, you might consider switching to CDJ/XDJ devices, which have this capability.

I updated it to the most recent version, however it appears that this version is incompatible.

Yes — it’s possible. Features like UI changes (e.g. showing additional text overlays during playback) are within the realm of what a firmware update could do (assuming hardware display/layout permits it). However:

Escape Road 2

There’s no public announcement from Pioneer that such a feature is coming (at least not that I could find).
It may require reworking how the Opus Quad’s firmware handles screen rendering, and possibly how it fetches and displays the comment metadata from Rekordbox.

i think they are about done adding anything to the Opus after a few years, we haven't seen an update in almost 10 months for anything except adding streaming services really

Right, memory cue comments, a puzzling predicament indeed! It's a bit odd that the comments only surface while scrolling, isn't it? Viewing them during playback would be way more useful. This sounds like a potential firmware fix is needed. I remember one time I was DJing a gig, and I couldn't find the drop on a track because I forgot to add my cues properly; it was almost as frustrating as getting cornered in Slither io by a much bigger snake! Hopefully Pioneer DJ addresses this soon.

Absolutely, Amora! The idea of making features more seamless is always a welcome improvement in any tech update. It's that balance between functionality and ease of use that makes or breaks user experience. Just like how moto x3m manages to blend challenging gameplay with intuitive controls, making it both engaging and accessible. If future updates can bring this level of refinement, I think it would not only meet but exceed user expectations.

Not seeing all the data you need in a workflow is frustrating, but with the right tools, you can still create amazing results. Using nano banana 2, for instance, ensures your creative output stays polished even if some minor features are missing.

Yeah, that’s actually a known limitation of the Opus Quad right now. The memory cue comments only show when you manually scroll through them, not during playback like on CDJ/XDJ units. As far as I know, there’s no setting in Rekordbox to change this behavior. Hopefully Pioneer adds it in a future firmware update because it would be super useful! wordletime

I ran into the same issue! It’s not something you can fix in Rekordbox unfortunately—it’s just how the Opus Quad is designed at the moment. A firmware update could definitely improve this though, so might be worth suggesting it on Pioneer’s forum  wordlepopolsku

Same here, I was surprised it didn’t show during playback. Feels like a missing feature compared to CDJ setups. wordle

Pretty sure it’s not available yet. I checked all Rekordbox settings and couldn’t find anything to enable cue comments in playback. coloringgames
