the relocation has ocured in the iTunes database, but not the iTunes.xml (that Rekordbox uses). the quickest way to update the entries in the iTunes.xml is to batch edit an unused tag (comment? grouping?) in iTunes.
I moved a file to a different folder on my computer. I then checked in iTunes and it picked up the new location and can play the track fine.
I then used the relocate function inside Rekordbox and it was able to update the location of the moved file in my Collection and the track plays fine in Rekordbox from the Collection view.
My problem is that when I view a synced iTunes playlist the track still shows with the orange exclamation mark in the iTunes/Playlist view inside Rekordbox. I've tried refreshing the view, un-syncing and re-syncing the playlist and closing iTunes and Rekordbox programs and reopening both. Nothing has worked so far, any suggestions?
