can i hear master output from headphones on DJM 900 srt

Hello everyone

I hope you don't mind me asking

So, I recently updated my setup from a Denon MCX8000 controller to a pair of CDJ 2000 Nexus and a DJM 900 SRT.

I typically practice at home a lot during late nights. With my controller, I would just listen on my headphones and not have any speakers plugged in.

I've tried doing this on my new setup but when I plugged in my headphones I can only hear each channel when pressing the cue button, I can't hear the master output no matter what buttons I press.

I tried skimming through the manual for the DJM 900 SRT but it's not obvious to me how to do this.

Does anyone know?

Thanks so much

To hear the master, you need to have signal on the master output; ensure the master knob is turned up (and turn down / off any outboard gear).

Press the MASTER CUE button, and check that the headphone mix knob is set so you have some of the master signal in the headphones.

I realize this is an old thread, but this bit me over the weekend at a gig.  What is the purpose of this design?  It seems the "MIXING" knob has no function if the master cue is not selected.  Perhaps it is related to split cue functionality?

@andysk > Nope, that's purely for the ability to leave the cue-mix knob at a certain position and toggle the master cue on and off. Personally, I prefer that rather than always having the master cue sent to the mix knob.
