all I hear is white noise from the headphone

 i bought my Pionner XDJ-RX2 3 days ago and when I plugged my headphone into the dj controller all I hear is very small noise from the music and now is just white noise like when tv is running out of signal kind of noise. Do I need to return this device from the store which i got it from and get a different one or is there any technical way to fix this?
