DJM-750mk2 Channel Fader Feels Loose

I just purchased a pre-owned DJM-750mk2, and I found that one of the channel faders feels loose. It moves with less resistance than the other three faders and feels a bit "scratchy". It works just fine, but it feels worn down, as opposed to the other three which still have that nice smooth resistance that faders normally ship with.

So far, I have:

  • Used compressed air (canned)
  • Flattened the end of a q-tip, applied a drop of isopropyl alcohol, and scrubbed the rail without removing the faceplate, then dried with the canned air.

I got some black stains on the q-tip which made it feel less scratchy, but there is still a lack of resistance that bothers me.

How can I get that smooth resistance back?

The fader feel will change over time - and I'm not authorized to provide any information on modification or disassembly of your mixer to hack the fader, so I'll direct you to please contact Pioneer DJ technical support in your region and they can provide some additional information, whether it's recommending a specific lubricant to "thicken" things up or to replace the fader completely.
