Recording via DJM 850

Hello,

I'm using a DJM 850 which is connected with my Macbook Pro via USB Cable.

Yesterday I was trying (for the first time) to record a mixtape with Audacity.
At the end, my recorded mixtape seems like very silent. On top of that when I check the wave form from my mixtape the Waveform is smaller compared to the original song.

Are there any settings, extra hardware I need ? to optimze the intensity of my sound ?
I tried the Normalize function from Audacity but still there is a difference in audio volume.

Below a comparison:

Above is a piece of my recorded mixtape

Below is the original song

Any tips, tricks, guides are more than welcome!

This is normal due to the overhead and recording level set lower than zero to ensure that if you were to get near zero dB, the recording wouldn't clip.

Our recommendation is to find the best recording level that suits your style (with that level being set in the DJM Settings Utility app), and then boosting the overall volume as needed post-recording.
