I experienced a strange issue last weekend on my 1st generation DDJ-SZ with SeratoDJ Pro. It seems when a second laptop got plugged in to the second USB ports, the position of my filter knobs got all screwed up. If the second laptop was removed and I unplugged/re-plugged my USB, the position goes back to normal.
detail: imagine the filter knob has a range from 0-255, with center being 127. If I have my filter knob centered at 127 and turn on one of the 4 effects, it behaves normally. After plugging in a second laptop, the filter position was still centered (127) but behaved as though it was turned hard left (0), and turning it doesn't seem to have any audible affect on the FX parameters.
In my scenario, the my laptop is a Windows 10 PC and the second system was a MacBook Pro. I am also going to report this issue to Pioneer DJ, and see if it is a driver issue. I have not tested with RekordBox or other DJ software. The filter knobs and effects built into the mixer section on the SZ do operate mostly independently of the software with the exception of the fact that they DO read/understand BPM information (for the Echo effect).
If anyone who owns an SZ could test this for me, I would appreciate it.
Steps to reproduce:
1. launch Serato DJ Pro with one laptop connected.
2. load track and test filter knob behavior with filter effect.
3. connect a second laptop running Serato DJ (or DJ Pro)
4. repeat filter knob test from track playing from first computer.
