RX2 freezing and loading random tracks
PIONEER RX2 SOUND ISSUE!!
Can anyone help? When I connect my 6 month old RX2 to a brand new MacBook Pro with 16GB RAM (decent spec) with the Pioneer USB cable provided, via an Apple USB adaptor into one of the USB C ports and then try and mix one track into another in MIDI MODE the sound starts going really crackly and within seconds cuts out altogether. The track keeps playing and all functionality on the controller seems to continue just no sound.
Is it anything to do with the cable and the Apple adaptor to USB C Thunderbolt 3 port?
I’ve recently updated the firmware to the latest version which was released 18th December.
I’ve also tried to reinstall it today but the system recognises it’s the same version and just tells me to switch the unit off. Doesn’t seem to give you the option to overwrite.
If that’s not bad enough, NYE I used it at a club gig without the laptop as luckily I experienced the above issue while at home earlier during the day, I was using just two USB 64GB thumb drives, and around 11pm the whole unit just froze, all lights stayed on and track just stopped and nothing would work correctly so had to embarrassingly switch the unit off and back on again which seemed to take an age infront of a silent packed dance floor!!
Luckily it didn’t freeze for the rest of the night however, several times when I went to load the next new track it did weirdly load the same track that was already playing at exactly the same time so I could see/hear the same track on both decks!?
I should also point out that the Cue buttons don’t seem to light up in the correct colours when I have it connected to the laptop in MIDI mode, they are all purple...?
Both the shop I purchased it from and Pioneer tech support line seem to have no clue what the issue is but I can see tons of similar complaints on forums yet no apparent solution.
Has anyone else had this and managed to fix the issue?
Cheers in advance to anyone who can offer their advice 👌
