DVS sync

Mac Mojave, djms9, xp1 dvs.
So I have played with rekordbox dvs for the last 2 years, and after having 4 affected control vinyls (didn’t return will save for phase) I have noticed a few consistent issues. If I start up rekordbox fresh and don’t uses any sync or master key or quantise settings, ie. all off on the xp1, I can beat juggle in relative mode perfectly with no sticker drift with the cue points. This includes heavy backspinning and the cues all stay in the same place on the record. However if I engage any beat/bpm sync, or quantise in internal or relative, then turn everything off and try to go back to the initial start up settings, I start to get large drifts when beat juggling. The only way is to restart rekordbox and the the cues have no drift and are perfect again. Any insight into this would really help thanks!

I've passed this along to our engineers for review.

Hi. Am having a similar issue. Will let you know if I get to the bottom of it. AND: do you know if each track on a [Pioneer] control vinyl LP can be assigned to a separate track in rekordbox?? otherwise the grooves between songs seem a bit redundant, no? thnx if you can get back

I am pretty sure that’s currently a no with rekordbox. I’m pretty frustrated that Pioneer seem to have no interest in bringing their dvs game up to the likes of Serato and traktor,(even Virtual dj for that matter) they are title sponsor for 3style last night, and nobody used their software. says a lot! Anyone can spin a basic set on rekordbox dvs but if you want to do any type of routine currently Serato,et al have sticker lock, and assign each LP track to a new hotcue and what you’re talking about, which is lacking in rekordbox. It seems like an easy addon to a new software version release, so I can’t understand why it’s being ignored for the last few years of requests. Any honest insight from pulse on this wold be appreciated, as I currently play on nexus, and ddj1000 with rekordbox, and s9 and technixmk5gs with Serato. FWIW I have the red, blue clear white and black rekordbox CVs. The black originals VSK1 see to be the best for juggling and scratching. Blues were faulty, whites super thick, clear are thin but hard black vsk1s (that come as a single) seem to be the pick. Would love to hear other turntables thoughts on it here.

Hi is there any update on this. It’s still an issue and I’m happy to video to show it. To repeat. With no sync enabled on the xp1 I can backspin and juggle with no sticker drift using rb dvs vinyl. If I engage sync then drifting starts on back spins. I have to restart rekordbox to stop the sticker drift. I have bpm sync, not beat sync in my settings. Ideally I’d like bpm sync on so tracks are always starting at the master bpm, but as soon as I use it once I can beat juggle as the sticker drift happens. This is the only thing stopping me from a full move from serato.

Yes, I now use Serato. Pioneer DJ support is an embarrassment.

This is pretty bad to hear. I went from pure Vinyl to Phase in Rekordbox DJ because I thought the drift was caused by worn Vinyl or needles... Actually the drift was even worse with Phase so I sold them after using them for one year. Now back on Vinyl and needles again, but still I have the drift. Indeed especially with backspinning or when I am practising scratching intensively. It's so anoying that now I am looking for a solid solution. I understand that more people are experiencing the sticker/cue drift with Rekordbox DJ? No solution yet?

It is actually the reason why I haven't purchased Phase yet as I keep hearing about drifting with Rekordbox but no public statement from MWM on working with Pioneer DJ to resolve this.

I haven't worked my way back yet to beat juggling but I've noticed the minor drifting as well in practising my scratch techniques so far. So I wonder if it will be as bad as Mgplant mentioned once I get to juggling. I've started looking at Serato more, even though I feel Rekordbox is the better (looking) software in my opinion.

Can only hope that they've been working with people like sixtyninebeats and DJ Mellstarr who use Rekordbox to remedy this as much as possible.
Even though I fear I might be low on the priority list as the majority of Rekordbox users are not DVS/turntablist
