XDJ1000MK2 TOUCH SCREEN NOT WORKING

The touch screen for the XDJ1000mk2 stops to work at times. I have come to discover that it happens when the temperature is low. Now I have to increase the temperature I'm working which makes the environment discomforting for the guests especially when the place gets packed. Now you know it has nothing to do with the firmware.

If it's temperature-dependent, it could be a loose connection or problematic solder point which then regains contact once the internals warm up (and expand)... if it continues, you may want to consider having it serviced - if it's under a year old, you'd likely be covered by the warranty. Here's a list of authorized service centres.

Did you get to the bottom of this issue ? One of my xdj1000’s is doing exactly the same. After switching on from being off for any more than few hours the touch screen is unresponsive for up to five minutes then it will be fine until the next startup from cold.

As for me I just keep the room at above 20 degrees n it works just fine. Even when I drop the temperature later after it still continues to respond.

Mmm, ok. I think as above it must be a bad contact somewhere that makes contact once the internals have warmed up.

Probably. But best thing for you would be to take it back and have it checked if your warranty is still valid.

Unfortunately I have bought them used so the warranty is out on them I believe, they were manufactured in November 2017.

Damn! I guess it's now a game of temperatures. Hopefully they start working normally. And if the player doesn't freeze in the middle of your sets then you will be fine.

Ok, so I seem to have fixed mine. Pulses comment about it maybe a dodgy solder joint or connecting makes complete sense.

I split the unit and checked the lcd circuit board for any obvious signs of a fault, couldnt see anything but while i had it apart i unplugged the big ribbon cable from the lcd circuit board and gave the contacts on the end of the ribbon a very light wipe over with a dry tissue then refitted. This alone seems to have cured my particular issue, powered up the unit this morning after being off all night and unit is responding straight away.
