Hi there, yesterday was my 3rd go of using CDJ 2000 Nexus 2s and they were set up differently to how I'm used to. These ones would start at the first memory/hot cue, rather than at the very beginning of the track like the others. I've read the manual but I'm not sure what the technical term for this is, so it's not been much help. How can I turn this off and have the needle at the very beginning of the track when it's loaded?
Don't change the HOT CUE AUTO LOAD function to off; that just prevents the deck from loading the hot cue points.
What you want to do is change the preference in the utility menu for the AUTO CUE LEVEL:
Set it to anything other than memory.

lol - no worries, done that myself plenty, either forgetting a specific model's function or quickly scanning the question and missing that they said "DDJ-RX" and not "XDJ-RX." 😉
