I have also experienced this problem. I am using QSC k12.2's and even used another friends pair of them to make sure it was not the speakers. I am watching to see if someone responds to your message. Thanks for sharing.
Hello!
I have owned my S9 for a couple years now, and throughout my time with this mixer I have noticed on many occasions that the audio output is somewhat distorted. I have used my own setup and played at venues such as casinos, and there’s always someone that will say “do you think that sounds right?” I have slowly tried to problem solve over the years. I have tried new XLRs, new USB cable, the mixer has up to date software and firmware, new speakers, etc.
I just purchased RCF HD35A speakers and I used them last night. When I cranked them up, it almost sounded if the speakers were blown. Speaker volume was at 1 o’clock. Main volume on my mixer was 1 o’clock. Gain was at 12 o’clock. Serato DJ Main Volume is at 12 o’clock. Not redlining at all. I don’t understand. I tried turning down the Master ATT, but now it just sounds lower. Is there something wrong with the mixer? Am I now out $1700?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

The same thing just happened to me today. Had it since September 2015 and sounded just fine, today it sounds so badly distorted. Sounds perfect from the booth monitor and headphones.
