XDJ-XZ and RBDJ Performance Mode Large Moving Waveforms

I noticed in one of the Pioneer press shots a laptop displaying Rekordbox DJ (Performance Mode) as well as large moving waveforms on the XDJ-XZ. There's also a reference to zooming in on waveforms in the hardware reference diagram. Can you confirm that the large moving waveforms are actually present when using the XZ with Rekordbox DJ in Performance Mode–identical to how the CDJ-NXS2 waveforms behave when properly connected to RBDJ Performance Mode?

Without having used it myself, I can't confirm anything more than you've seen in the marketing materials. Unfortunately the main "hero" video doesn't really show much with it in conjunction with rekordbox either, so I'll have to wait and hear back from the engineers.

Much to my (pleasant) surprise, the moving waveforms are present and the decks can be switched by simply pressing "Shift" twice. Very cool.

Now if they enable us to use the Pad Editor to remap the Pads to control the lighting functions, I may pass out from pure joy overload. :-)

Perhaps a new video should be made highlighting the four-deck capability and the moving waveforms via RBDJ as that's a pretty sweet feature that should be emphasized. Just my two cents.

Cheers, @Pulse

I'm pretty sure the Pad Editor mode will be there, it's been available on all models released since that feature was introduced (and I'm disappointed they didn't add support for legacy devices), but even if it's not the quick-and-dirty Editor, you can always map out the pads with the MIDI Editor.

Sorry, I'm told the Pad Editor is not available but I've asked if they can consider including the XDJ-XZ for that function.

As for the display, when used with rekordbox, it will basically be the same as all functionality as when using a USB drive.

Hi Pulse,

I appreciate the follow-up and hopefully they'll include compatibility with the Pad Editor in the future as it's wonderfully convenient. But I have no problem doing it the "old fashioned" way via MIDI so I can map out lighting functions.

Cheers.
