Yes surprised about this too. Cost cutting measure, perhaps?

Why does the XDJ-XZ not have Red LED’s but has White?
Hi Guys,
I don’t understand why the XDJ-XZ (aimed at Clubs/Mobile DJ’s) doesn’t have the red LED’s to show which side of the unit is in use.
Pioneer have added the 4 white lights around the jogs, which is great, but not to add the RED lights is completely wrong in my opinion. To show a DJ which side is being used, is something which should have been added as one, not leave out the red lights due to cost / hardware limitation which would have only been only a couple of $, and the Jog Wheel is full sized, so you’d have thought....
My question would be, Can a software update allow the White LED’s to change to RED to show which side is used?
At a cost of £1900 you’d have thought this would have been done in the first place. I’m actually pretty annoyed Pioneer designers have disregarded this, for the cost of this unit it should have been implemented :(
Quote from Crossfader review:
’In what does feel like a missed opportunity, it’s worth discussing the on air display of the inbuilt decks. Unlike the CDJ units that changed from white LED’s on the jog wheel to red when that channel is in use, the XDJ-XZ instead flashes a tiny red icon around the deck number on screen when that channel is on air.
The DDJ-1000 also stopped using the red LED’s which at the time of release seemed strange but at least the internal screens displayed the change with a white glow at either side. The XDJ-XZ skipping both these solutions and using the same tiny icons as the RX units which were forced to do this due to hardware limitations (No jog wheel display or LED’s) just feels rushed, not a major flaw but something that’s made glaringly obvious when you connect other CDJ’s to the unit’
