I recently purchased the DJM 900 NXS2 and noticed it has an issue with recording via the DJM REC app and a usb cable. I can see this issue has been addressed in another post and as of 12/21/19, it is being worked on by Apple Engineers and Pio neer. I wanted to let you know that I also have this same issue and the playback option is also not working. Im sure they are related. Here are the steps:
1. connect iphone 7 running iOS 13.3 to mixer via a lighting cable to USB port on top right of the mixer
2. play audio from phone to mixer, it works for about 3 mins and then cuts out and the phone is not recongized by the mixer.
3. As a note, it seems if audio is not initiated, then the mixer keeps the connection to the phone and charges it.

Yes the engineers are working on a solution for this. You can also file a ticket if you wish.... please file an inquiry ticket here
Yeah, they said they've been working on it since October. Purchased the 900nxs2 and the app specifically for recording, but I guess that isn't happening anytime soon.
