You add ratings and tag tracks to make a playlist but no ID3 editing ability on the unit. The best approach is to deal with deep edits with in rekordbox.

Tag editing in XDJ-XZ
When it comes to playing music library off of a USB key. I am hoping someone can shed some light on whether the XDJ-XZ is capable of editing the information of a track. Adding Tags to a track, removing tags, editing song information on the ID3 tag, etc from the touch screen of the XDJ-XZ.

But I can add or remove the pre-set tags to any song that I'd like from the unit without the need for a computer?

The "MyTags" can't be edited on the unit itself - Jay meant "tagging" the file to create playlists.

I understand that I can edit/create My Tags. But if I have a pre-existing tag of say-“late night”. Can I tag my currently playing song with that tag?
Or if I have a pre-existing tag that is “popular”, can I un-tag a song that is no longer popular?

No - you can't add or remove tags on songs on the hardware itself.
