Crossover and volume fader controls don't pair between Rekordbox and Pioneer XDJ-R1

Hi there,

I've recently been using trial Rekordbox software on my MacBook Pro in conjunction with my XDJ-R1. 
The software and hardware sync with one another in every respect, except for the crossfader and volume fader controls. Moving the controls on the XDJ-R1 shows no movement in the Rekordbox software – and vice versa. 
I've properly assigned the crossfader buttons to '1' and '2'. And I've ensured I have the most recent Rekordbox version and Pioneer XDJ-R1 firmware installed (ver 13).
I also can't see any existing solutions on the Pioneer forum.
Can you help me – please!?
