DJM 900 into phone jack for recording / live streaming. Also why doesn't fb live or YT live take audio from desktop

I have two issues, I basically want to live stream using audio from my DJM 900 nexus. I believe there are two options. 1. Use booth out or record out cables into a phone headphone jack. I have a RCA cable to headphone jack cable, it has two rungs. This does not work, the audio from the phone is picking up the room, nothing from the mixer, will a RCA into a 3 band 3.5mm jack (ttrs?) cable fix this? Any cable recommendations?

Option 2 using LINK I can reliable record via LAN on my windows 10 desktop with audacity. However when I try to live stream, selecting pioneer line audio does not output to FB or YT. It will not let you go live with that audio selected and sometimes keeps defaulting to the video mic (i have disabled this now and still have issues).

Please help, itching to live stream! This problem is blocking me.

NEVER connect it to a minijack on the computer as most cases that's a mic input, not a line input, and the line level from the mixer would totally distort the audio.

You're using a DJM-900nexus, why not use the built-in audio interface to stream to your software? Look up the OBS guides here; a new updated guide is coming later as I've just learned of a new ASIO plugin that can negate the need to use a couple of 3rd party apps.

It would be nice to get the correct cable for rec out RCA to mic in to my android, I believe its a RCS to TTRS cable.

It would also be nice to get the Win10 desktop working as you have suggested. I do not know what OBS stands for, but I can give it a try. Thank you for the info and speedy response.

Tony > Yeah, don't do that to your Android; get a dedicated audio interface designed for that purpose instead. The TRRS connector would be a mic input, not line - and you're feeding it a line signal.

Is there an output on my mixer that can go into the mic jack on the phone?

This tutorial says you can do it from Booth output to iPhone using an SC4 cable.

As much as I love the guy, Jonathan doesn't always provide the best and most technically-complete information. If you notice in his video, he says he has the booth-output at around 9 o'clock; that's to get a lower output signal than the master or recording output would be at, but even still, you're sending that signal into a MICROPHONE input, which is then amplifying the signal.

I DO NOT recommend doing this, even as a stop-gap fix. Do it right, get a proper audio capture device.
