XDJ-RX2 unable to use pad effects when using controller in stand alone mode with USB

Hello, So I’ve had my XDJ-RX2 for about a year and a half. I’ve always used it with my laptop and Rekordbox open as opposed to using USB. I’ve noticed that when using a thumb drive, I lose a lot of info that rekordbox provides. So since I’ve pretty much only used it at home for a practice device, it’s never bothered me to always keep my MacBook hooked up to it. However, when running through my computer, sometimes the CPU useage kind of makes my tracks skip, crackle, or pop a bit here and there. I’ve adjusted the latency, but still haven’t been able to get rid of that completely. The only way I can guarantee I’ll get a consistently clean sound is with a USB with pre-loaded analyzed tracks. So after preparing mixes I’ll export from rekordbox onto the thumb drive for later use.... now with all this being said, going back to using my thumb drives, now I notice that I don’t have any secondary functions on the pads. I get the hot cue, I get the beat loop, I get slip loop, and beat jump. But slip loop when hitting the shift button does not go into the secondary pad effect function like it would if I were using my laptop with rekordbox box. Is there a way to fix this? Am I missing a setting or something? Or am I just stuck with not having ALL of the available functions for this controller when using it as a stand alone unit? If that’s the case, what’s the point of it being a stand alone? It should have all the same functions with or with out a computer. Thanks in advance.

You're using it correctly - the only functions on the RX2 in stand-alone mode are those which are labeled on the buttons. The extra pad modes, for PADFX and SAMPLER, for example, are not available without rekordbox.
