SX1

Does the SX1 not work with RB anymore. RB recognizes it, but no functionality of the controller.

Yes, but if you're using rekordbox 6, you need a subscription, as the DDJ-SX is not a rekordbox hardware unlock device.

Also if I buy the RB-DMX1 , would that allow me to use performance mode with the SX without any subscription?

Yes! Use of any compatible unlock device, including the RB-DMX1 would work.
