My issue is my pc is detecting the controller but not as a sound device resulting me not being able to cue tracks in my headphones and if I wanted to use external speakers seperate from my pc this wouldn't be possible either, I've connected the controller to my old laptop and it works fine so clearly a pc problem, does anyone know what I need to do? thanks in advance!
(laptop is unusable as it over heats and shuts down after 5 mins of use!!)

You have Intel Smart Sound enabled, which can conflict with other audio devices; please disable any related devices in the Device Manager or uninstall the applications.
If the computer is overheating, it's possible that it either doesn't have adequate cooling for the power being used, or it's not powerful enough and is being driven too hard.
