DDj-WeGo not found by computer when trying to update firmware

my DDj-WeGo just stopped working randomly. I am trying to change/update the firmware but Java is saying ' controller not detected.

when i plug in the USB, the controller jog wheels light up together and the one goes off after a few seconds.

I know its an old product but i have used it recently and it has no other issues. This issue developed recently. Do i need a different version of java ?
