DJM 900 NXS records white noise/distorted audio while streaming into OBS

Hi guys,

Could really use your help. Have been unsuccessful in making this happen. Im using a Macbook pro running Mojave 10.14. 

I followed the steps listed in the tutorials all over the web but the recorded audio still sounds pretty crackled, almost bit crushed and has white noise.

I also noticed that there appears to be a signal or noise in my Audio Capture Device meter in OBS even before I hit play. I'm suspecting that might have something to do with it. And it's random too. Sometimes it's there and sometimes it's not.

I tried messing with the latency settings that many have suggested but still no difference.
