DDJ SZ MK1 just...stops?

My DDJ-SZ has always been tempremental (especially the platters), but whilst trying to use it today in conjunction with Rekordbox (5.8.5) performance mode to record a studio mix, I have finally had enough of it!

Random decks just stop playing intermittently - I could have 2-3 decks in the mix and one will stop. I could have one in the mix and it could stop - there is no pattern. Rekordbox will not freeze and the other decks will keep playing fine, but once a deck has stopped, it freezes and cant be engaged by pressing play. Sometimes you have to 'push start' the deck almost by pushing the platter forward!

A while ago I completely stopped using it out of Sync mode, as when nudging the platters, even gently to nudge a track into time, the deck just stops. But now even using sync and never touching the platters the decks keep stopping.

This is occuring so often that doing an hour mix today has been totally out of the question as it keeps stopping whilst recording.

Incredibly frustrating! Any help that anyone can give would be most appreciated!
