Crossfader issue ddj sx2

Crossfader curve is not working at all. I have it turned to 12 o'clock When a track is up on the left, and cross to the right, it only hard cuts to the right and left. NO matter what I do with the crossfader curve, it does not work properly. Nothing is fading ... only hard cuts.   Is this a hardware or firmware issue? I'm running Mac Catalina.
