DDJ-SX Fader Not Working / Mac Laptop OS 10.11.6 / DJ Pro Software

Hello, everyone. I'm doing tech support for a newer DJ and we're encountering one non-working fader on a DDJ-SX controller. The Mac Laptop and the controller are connecting and communicating, music is being passed through and is audible. All controls appear to work, and what is adjusted on the controller changes the proper controls in DJ Pro. HOWEVER: ONE fader, when moved on the controller, does not move the fader in DJ pro. When the corresponding fader in DJ pro is adjusted in the software, it remains stuck in position on-screen (almost down). My gut instinct/concern is that there is a hardware problem with the DDJ-SX. I will probably go ahead and clean the controller (standard air blow-out and electronics cleaner) to eliminate any dirt issue. Any otherwise known issues? Is it wise to also: 1. Do hard re-set to DDJ-SX, returning controller to default factory settings? 2. Update firmware using Pioneer online resources? I run a recording studio, and DJ controller hardware/software is a whole new interesting technology to me, and I want to be very careful about going at this recklessly. Here are the particulars. THE NEW: Mac Laptop (El Capitan OS 10.11.6) THE OLD: DDJ-SX Controller THE UNKNOWN: DJ Pro software version. (TBD) Thanks, Everyone!

Mick,

If you're using djay, I would recommend that you DO NOT map the faders as the audio levels are manipulated on the SX itself, same with the EQs. If you were to have those controls mapped to software, you'd effectively be performing that action twice on the audio; once in software, once in hardware.
