DDj-SZ skipping

With my personal laptop I have been having “skipping” issues.  The song will be playing fine and then out of the blue it will jump forward to a random part of the song.  It doesn’t jump to a hot cue, just to some random place in the middle of the song and then in a couple seconds will jump again.  This happens every few seconds until it gets to the end of the song.

Yesterday I was testing the machine. I would load a song on the right channel, hit play and it would jump to a random spot in the song about 20 seconds in.  The left channel was fine.

Tonight, using a completely different computer and hard drive it had a different issue.  The song could get loaded onto the left deck fine, but on the right when you pushed play it wouldn’t do anything.  It wouldn’t play at all.

I have updated the computers to the latest software, I have updated the firmware in the SZ, I have switched USB cables from the computer to the machine and also from the hard drive to the computer.

The odd part is that it can go for an hour or two before it happens.  Last weekend I went through cocktails for two hours, did the first dance, then had an hour of dinner; everything was fine.  As soon as I tried to do the father/daughter dance it started acting up.  It almost as if it’s ok do long as you’re not trying to manipulate the machine.  As soon as you start using cues or moving the wheels it starts to have issues.

I don’t know where to turn next but I cannot trust this machine.  Any help would be wonderful.

Sorry for the delayed response.  Have you got this sorted yet or did you still need some help?

It's shelved until I can get some help.  I can't trust it.  It made me look like a fool two weeks in a row during the father/daughter dance.  I see that there were issues with the NS7 and this sounds very similar.  It does fine during cocktails and during set up when I'm not manipulating the wheels or controls. As soon as I get started and start really working the machine, it starts the jumping.
