Can Mini Jack Contol Output socket on CDJ2000 Nexus be used to Start Player

I can find almost Zero info about the mini-jack Control Output on the rear of the CDJ2000 Nexus unit. I know it can be used to link together two players for something called Relay Play??? Why??? But I would like to know if it can be connected to a mixer such as Behringer DX 2000 that has Track Start push buttons (these simply short acoss, that triggers external units).

However, not knowing the technical spec inside this socket, I don't want to connect a mixer mini-jack to the CDJ mini-jack if its gonna damage the CDJ.

Does anyone here have experience of remotely controlling just the start button (NOT using a Pioneer DJM Mixer Fader Start!!!).

Cheers

This is exactly what it is used for. Typically with a Pioneer mixer........... just goes with the territory I suppose. I know absolutely nothing about Behringer products so perhaps it is the same. Relay play is when you connect both players and the end of a track triggers the other player to play the start of the track and this goes back and forth hence the term "relay". This function uses the same exact signal with the only difference being in your case you want this "start" singnal to come from the mixer.
