I like the physical layout of the Toraiz is nice and conducive to live performance which I find critically important. It's nice to have the physical buttons and flip through the mute/slice/scale real quick. The thing that struck me right away after setting up and diving in was that everything was very intuitive. I'll probably RTFM soon though to find the hidden gems.
I came in to Toraiz late last year and just after you had release V1.2 which was great because I needed the midi features. I bought a midi box to split midi to 8 thru ports. Right now I have Toraiz controlling 5 midi devices with a few more planned. It's pretty sick. What would be nice for midi is to be able to use a keyboard to play the notes in and record and to have some polyphony. It'd kinda make everything just perfect for my setup.
Hardware/software mixed dev isn't the easiest thing in the world and it's nice to see ongoing updates. I've just had a horrible experience with some (censored brand) products, support doesn't even get back to me and they don't even have product updates to fix glaring issues so it's nice to see a pioneer staff member taking in feedback and seeing a schedule for product updates. Community communication is critical, gives me confidence in your brand and shows that there is an on going future to your product.
Only been a couple months with Toraiz but I am having a blast being finally off the computer and back into jamming mode for making music.
Will come back and post some vids soon.
Thanks dev teams and pioneer community guy.

Does your roland have a clockable sequencer or arpeggiator on it? If so, try just send clock out of the SP in to it and see if that works. Use the circuit if the Roland doesn't. If you can get clock working, we know the midi ports and cable are good. I'm still confused by your statement that the midi cable worked for sampling the synth. What does this mean?
@PromoBozo It actually sets itself C5. Tapped the keys around few times and still no sound.l -__-
@CraigLambert The synths clock is in sync and is reactive to the SP-16s BPM. Still no sound come from the pads though.
As for the MIDI cable, I mistook myself due to the I've had plugged the whole time ive been sampling the synth. I was even under impression that it was necessary connection for sampling.
Change it down to C4 or C3 and try. Small possibility you are out of range of the keyboard.
@PromoBozo I tried every key in every scale abd still no luck.. this is beginning to get unreal..
Here's an easy teat. Can you sequence/play the Roland from the Circuit? If you can't, it's not a setting in the Pioneer. If you can, we can eliminate the Roland as the culprit.
Curious how this played out.
@CraigLambert I left a post via my phone last night saying a million Thank yous. I probably had a bad connection.
So it turned out that all was fine the SP-16 and what I was missing was an update for the JD-Xi. After completing the update, The process worked like a charm.
Haha I was REALLY confused right around the time the clock was synced but i still couldn't get any sound while being in the right channel. -__-
I couldn't thank you and @PronoBozo enough, I really appreciate the patience you guys have had through out this whole thing.
That's great news! Glad it worked out. I admit I was getting frustrated but figured it had to be something on the synth end.
