Sync - order by track name (bpm)

Is there a why to sync and get the export to list by Track Tile automatically?

I add the bpm to the start of the track name for all of my tunes so I can work out what to play next faster - I've always done this.  So on the cdj I like each playlist to be ordered by track title (i.e. bpm).

Every time I sync my usb with Rekordbox , afterwards I have to manually go through and 'renumber track order' to get them back in the right order.  This take FOREVER as I've got loads of playlists on there.

Help!

Create your playlist.

Sort it by whichever criteria you want (eg. by Track Title) - then right-click on any column-header and select "Renumber Track Order" - the track numbering will be set to that preference. You can now export that playlist and load it on the player to show in that same order.

If you want to be able to SORT in a specific method, you need to add that - you can do that by connecting your USB device, click on its name on the left (tree) in Export mode, then click the SORT tab on the main window to show the sort options on that device. Add the ones you want from the left to the right window and they will then be available on your drive as a sort option when you press the MENU button on a CDJ.

If you align the track section correctly in a playlist, and export the playlist, you can choose to browse the playlist on the CDJ - and the track order will be the same as in the playlist in Rekordbox.

Thanks Tord - not sure what you mean by 'align the track section correctly in a playlist'.

With sync the place that I have an option to define the display order is after the export on the device.

If I drag the playlist into 'collection' and set the display order there I can define it before export, but thats just a one of export and not syncing...

Just to clarify; You are using Rekordbox to prepare the music you want to export to USB, right?

Well, if you use a normal Rekordbox playlist, the track-order will be copied to the USB when you export. If you'd still like to use the CDJs to sort on BPM, do this;

Ok, so you're saying that if I make my playlist in Rekordbox I can export it as I want it, but not if I carry on importing from itunes...

There's no way to order by bpm within a playlist is there?

I can't answer that for certain, I've never used iTunes in my life - but I can say for sure that it will work with a normal Rekordbox playlist, exported. But like you see in the picture, you can just as easily sort by BPM on the CDJs themselves.

ok - thanks.  I use the sort by bpm on the cdjs, but that's for everything on the cdj and I use large drives with lots of tracks so there's a lot to sift through.  Cheers for you time though

Hi all, I know this thread is a bit old. I just want to find out does this count for the CDJ850 as well? If I sort my Playlists on Rekordbox via BPM and "Renumber Track Order". Will it display in that order on the CDJ850 as well?
And do the CDJ850's have an option of choosing what info to sort by (As on the CDJ2000Nexus etc) For Example date, BPM, Track Name etc.

Regards :)

Sorry guys, did some more research and seems you cannot "sort playlists by..." with the 850's

But my first question remains.

@Armand > If you renumber the playlist order on rekordbox, then export the playlist to your USB drive, it will retain that default order on all compatible products.

For people using iTunes playlists, you can change the playlist order in the playlists within the USB if the option is greyed out when looking at your iTunes playlists from within Rekordbox
