Mixed in key Hot Cue Points

Hi Pioneer team,

I have finally jumped from Serato to your rekordbox DJ platform, it a neat kit and looking forward to hours behind the decks.

But... over years i had build some great cue points and used Mixed In Key to get the ball rolling on new tracks. It sucks that Pioneer isnt allowing MIK cues into Rekordbox.

Please let them in, it would be great partnership!!

I Agree, that way we also have Camelot key notation.

But Wes, I went fom Traktor to Rekordbox and I have a work around. I import new music into Traktor and MiK first. It is possible to use Traktor for 30 min, this is plenty time for me to add my new tracks and have them analyzed.

Then I use RekordBuddy 2 to copy my Traktor Library (included the cue points and key notation) into Rekordbox!

It would be great to skip all this, but for now it will work the way I want!

There is no problem with Camelot key notation in RekordBox. I use MIK and all of my keys show in Camelot format.

I was thinking about writing a whole new utility to let Mixed in Key work together with Rekordbox. But what Peter Ywe van Bruggen describes is what I otherwise needed to create.

If you use iTunes as your collection manager then you can sync both Traktor Pro and Rekordbox to the same playlists/tracks.

You can use my djay Conversion Utility to get your cues/beatgrids/loops from Traktor Pro to Rekordbox. It costs way less then rekordbuddy and is strictly conversion so no track management. for more info:

I wrote another utility (the Traktor Tag Sync Utility) to make the camelot keys even more usefull. Among many other other things it will put a "0" in front of keys with a value less then 10. But maybe even more important you can chose to reformat the comment field so you can sort on the comment field and find the matching key with matching bpm very quickly.

The comment field can be displayed next to the track name on most cdj's. Giving you both the key and base BPM.

Hey Colesy,

Does MIK notation show up in the proper Key column and is it usable by RecordBox 'matching tracks' window??

Hello! Sorry for delay in replying.

Yes it shows in the proper key column and yes it is usable by the matching tracks features

Hi Everyone,

Thanks for you feed back, I was more asking for direction on how to import my cue points created from years of playing Serato into Rekordbox?

Cheers

And what to do if I transferred the playlist from the tractor to the recordbox and print the file not found?
