DDJ-RX Not Powering Up

Hi all, ok so just the other day I went to power up my DDJ-RX controller and it would not turn on, not even as a stand alone mixer (No Lights at all). I tried everything ie: (powering up with/without USB cable connected, connecting to a different wall socket, I even checked the power supply with a multi meter and it was working as it should) it was simply a door stop. Well that's what I thought until a week later and after coming across a rare post about a DDJ-SX with similar problems on a forum, I pulled it back out of the box and fired it up again just in case and what do you know it worked and now it's day 3 and it's still working fine.The controller was 6 days out of warranty when it happened and I am a little worried that it may happen again, right before a gig etc. The controller and power/USB cable are in very good condition no damage what so ever and has always been stored in a road case. I will say it has been plugged in for a couple of months to mains power at home so I thought that maybe it had some sort of power buildup inside being plugged in that long and it caused it problems. I've owned an SX and an SX2 prior to the RX and I have never had this happen. I would just like to know if anybody has heard or had a similar problems with the RX controller in this way. Cheers in advance.
