Not happy.

I use the XDJ-RX... Love it. Except today it really annoyed me. I just finished recording a two hour mix (at least I thought it was recording) and I'm very familiar with this feature as I often record. The mix is done, the USB goes into the computer.... Nothing there.

Why does the unit tell me it's recording the whole two hours? I had fun mixing and all (always do) but seriously what an absolute waste of time. Why does the XDJ-RX do this?

By the way there was plenty of space on the USB I was recording with.

Please let me know what's going on here. I was supposed to hand this mix in today in hope for it to be aired on a podcast. Seriously not happy. Help.

I would first check that you ACTUALLY had free space on the drive. A lot of DJs I've worked with have simply dragged the contents of the drive to the trash and ejected the drive, assuming that it was now empty. If you don't empty the trash while the drive is connected to the computer, it doesn't actually make that space available. This is just one possibility as to why it didn't record.

Another would be that the drive is corrupted / damaged. Either way, reformatting before recording should provide you the peace-of-mind in having a functional drive with available space.
