While there are no markings on the meters, I believe the first orange is +2dB.
Do you have the input selectors on the 2i2 set to LINE or INST? And just where is the gain knob on those inputs set to?
So Im trying to record a mix with my XDJ R1 and im going from the XLR Master Output through a Focusrite 2i2 audio interface. Even when the third green led from the VU meter is where my tracks peaks and the gain from the 2i2 are all the way down I can see that the Input is clipping. Im wondering, shouldnt be the first orange led in the peaks around Line level? Because when im connecting any other line level signal into my interface the input is not clipping.
Any guesses?

Both are set to LINE, and the gain knob is all the way down, thats why I think the problem is related to the R1. I remember that once I plugged RCA-Plug connectors from the second Master Output to the 2i2 and the signal was nowhere close to clip level, do they have different voltage? (-10dBv and +4dBu I guess)
Even if thats true it shouldnt be clipping on the 3 - 4 led, it has to be something else.
