Good news! As of rekordbox 5.0.2 they introduced a new setting to get things back to the way they were in 4.4!

Waveform stretching is useless with rekordbox > 4.4
We can no longer beatmatch visually with this new stretching when dvs is enabled
Why make change ?
sorry for bad english i'm french.

The reasoning was outlined in the image you re-linked; at extreme tempo changes, the grid markers were not visible, so they modified the waveform stretching to be a moving-speed change instead.
but it is unusable to align the beatmarker visually
They align at the mid-point.
This same thing keeps being brought up and the users are giving you their honest opinion. This is whacked out. If you use 4.3.1 everything is fine. When you jump to anything later it makes mixing very difficult. The only real way to do it is with your ears which somewhat defeats the purpose of the visual with RB.
What is the point of taking a stand on this if you get constant feedback that it is not right? If there is some technical reason other than "it just changed" can we at least hear that?
Keep in mind it takes about an hour to log in to this portal because of login issues that have been around for over year now. Its very difficult to contribute in any real way and then when you do you get a two or three word answer with no real backing to it.
People are going to complain about change for sure but how is this better than what was there? What was the improvement here. If you actual try and mix with this its really bad. For me it doesn't even have to do with major differences in BPM. I can have the exact same BPM in two tracks and anything after 4.3.1 the tracks will drift on their own which can't be correct. I have not tried 5.0.1 maybe something has been addressed. I don't have a lab machine though so each time its pretty significant to go to the new version and then back again. Mainly because the first question is "did you re-analyze int he new version. (Using DDJ-RZX)
I will try a carbon copy soon maybe that will help. Any feedback is appreciated.
Please, rollback the change to the grid or at least make it configurable. This is an issue.
The behaviour is different between DVS and non-DVS setups and only ultra rare exceptions will fall in the case of absurd BPM changes like displayed in the image. This also goes against all other DJ software in the market
I bought a Pioneer mixer specifically for using DVS with turntables since I've been using Rekordbox with DDJ controllers for a long time. and now I'm stuck in version 4.3.1 since this is a dealbreaker. A lot of other posts in this forum shows the same...
Thanks, we are aware of the feedback and have asked the engineers to investigate options.
