Rekordbox freezing and latency issue caused by Microsoft Wireless device

I've been at this 9 hours now and it's really annoying me now. Please help.

Everything was working fine the past week but this evening I downloaded 60 tracks and created a new playlist. During this my free trial expired so I activated my serial I got with the RX. Soon after this I turned the RX on and used the track selection knob to move between playlists and tracks but noticed there was an unusually long lag while scrolling.

When I loaded a track into the deck to check everything was working, i noticed the track wouldn't play, the cue and play buttons were flashing. The faders and everything are communicating with rekordbox on screen fine but it takes about 5 minutes or so for a touch of the jogwhel or press of the play/cue to take effect.

The audio is fine. Infact, if I switch from the ASIO RX driver to my main output on my PC everything works fine except thees no output for the headphones. When I select The Asio RX driver if I turn the jogwheel or press play it will take anywhere from 5/20 minutes for the action to happen.

The only thing I can think of is that because my files are all being reanalysed it hasd somehow slowed Rekorbox right down. My PC is i7 3.4ghz 12gb ram so I can't see it being a power issue although it does sound like the latency is shot to hell somehow. I've uninstalled the drivers, reset every screen to default in prefs and cleared my whole collection. I've swapped usb port and audio in jack ports too. I know the audio settings are configured correctly.

UPDATE - My collection has been reanalyzed and it's still happening. As a last resort I have uninstalled Rekordbox 5.0.1 in the vein hope that it will somehow fix the problem.

Everything was working fine until I used my activation key upon the 30 days expiring!

Fixed it. It wasn't the usb port that was the issue it was the Microsoft Mouse and Keyboard detection driver (Wireless dongle for my keyboard)

It worked the last time because i'd removed it to replace it with the RX usb. As soon as I put it back in, that's when it stopped.

I've tested it several times since and Rekordbox works perfectly with the RX when I've the Microsoft wireless dongle removed. I tried to moving it to a port on the back of the machine, incase it was interference from the wireless device, but as soon as the driver installs it will freeze Rekordbox again.

So it's definately the driver for the wireless keyboard that's causing the problem. Guess I need a new keyboard.

This may be helpful for anyone else who experiences similar device breaking latency problems.Remove all usb connected devices and see if it works, if it does try adding each device one by one until you find the problematic device that's causing it.

@Marty > Please try the following:

1. Disconnect the USB from the RX
2. Turn on the power of RX while pressing [SHIFT] button on the left deck and [DECK 1] button at the same time.
3. Wait for about 5 seconds.
4. Press the [SYNC] button on the both decks for 3 seconds.

When the [SYNC] buttons' LED is turned off, reconnect the USB and launch rekordbox to see if the latency has improved.

Let me know if that resolves the issue for you.

No bud. Unfortunately not. it's moving at 0.1 second around every 5 secs, it's so slow I cannot even hear audio hoever every so often it will play continious for a couple of seconds and I can hear the track and then it will slow right back own again. Which at least lets me know the audio configuration is fine and it seems to be an issue with buffering or latency.

If I change the driver from the ASIO RC to my main output speaker it works fine though I know thats not the correct configuration.

I've been at this from last night and ran into a mountain of problems when installing the latest Nvidia drivers but that's all sorted now and they're up to date too, along with the suggested Intel Drivers I found on another thread on here.

This all happened as soon as I activated my key. It was working fine during the 30 day free trial.

Update - I changed the usb ports and finally got it working, even on the lowest latency setting but when I restarted the pc it stopped working again. Any suggestions, based on that? I've already tried switching ports again but can't get it to work.

Thanks for the help!

Weird - good to know, and thanks for writing back!

One of our standard troubleshooting recommendations is to remove all other USB devices, but I figured we'd start with the obvious steps.
