Ask a question, get accused of piracy?!?

Yesterday, I ask a question about importing a backing track for a vocalist. The situation is that I'm emceeing an event that has some live entertainment, and one of the artists brings me a USB drive with a backing track. I needed to import that track so that I could play it without the usb drive plugged in. With no other information, I was accused of piracy by pioneer and the topic was closed. I'm a new rekordbox user, so is this the type of support I can expect out of pioneer? A few things: 1: copying a file to be used for live performance isn't piracy. 2: if the file is an original work by the artist, it's not piracy. 3. It's pretty crappy to accuse someone of piracy with no information. Makes me feel pretty crummy.

Sorry, the average user who comes in asking that question will typically be copying his mate's collection with general disregard for paying for music. I apologize for having painted you with that brush.

But to answer your question, you're better off copying the file through the filesystem to your computer and then importing it from a local source. I would recommend a simple drag-and-drop to the desktop, then import it to rekordbox from there.

Just use iTunes to convert your file and them add it to your library.
