*** Toraiz SP-16 Firmware 1.40 big joke now available ***

I dont know if its a joke or mistake in numbering of updates (maybe should be 1.32?) but after horrible experience with Toraiz SP-16 updates I decided to stop buying product from PioneerDJ. Dont say me there werent many users who wanted live looping, 2fx slots, more effects (i dont know many producers who use in their work only one fx during composing electronic music), automations etc. Support is terrible, sorry to say that. My decision to buy SP-16 was based on demo show in Germany on Spring 2016. Product promised almost 15 different fx, 2 fx slots and live looping in the future at basic. As soon as Toraiz was available in Europe, I bought it on September 2016 but i didnt know that i have in my hands beta product with only 4 fx (delay, reverb, eq, filter), no slice, no scale, no live looping, no 2 fx slots... So dont wonder how disappointed I am after more than one year of waiting... waiting for copy&paste functions.

Last proper update was on November 2016, no dubt. But let me ask you for last time, are you really serious if this is a major update with new exciting features?

I'm locking this thread as nothing here is contributing to a forward conversation about the update. We understand you're frustrated that the features or fixes you expected were not included, but I encourage you to provide that feedback in feature requests here. Please keep it constructive and clear as it's our Japanese engineers who are receiving this input. While you are welcome to complain, a feature request is not the place to do it.

in any way it's against you Pulse ;)

just seriously disappointed and the DJS1000 in addition make the thing more worst I think...

Because we read the DJS1000 and SP-16 will be harmonized and fully compatible … but from the new functionality and performance FX, new reverb algorithm … this 1.4 update bring nothing from the DJS1000 to the SP16 and that was exactly what am I waiting for (limit pray for that to happen ) so the fall hurts

I'm Sorry Pulse I understand that it must be hard to hear complaints and you and pioneer probably prefer to read satisfied users ;)

You said all of that take time but I disagree. Next time Pioneer don't promote your prototype at musikmess with what you aiming for ... but what you capable of ;)
And not launch a product which is not finished or ready ;)

Study better the needs of a producer/performer these days and release a :

better thought product

Now I tell myself that the Toraiz SP16 is just not powerful enough to meet the promises and even less the wishes in terms of new features of users. Yet the SP-16 is almost the price of a computer ...

Again I'm sorry for you.

But I'm disappointed and I feel I have the rights to claim it loud.

I just called Pioneer today to find out how save the Dave Smith filters per scene like the update says on the site and support could not even tell me how, so she asked me for my number to call me some other day and tell me how to use,no instructions on site either, can't believe this, now i got a feeling the feature isn't even available, anybody know how ?

I am no longer surprised by the FAKE promises that Pioneer has making with this unit,I had a feeling this was gonna happen because after buying the DJS i see there is no button for sampling on the Toraiz so i figured they would have to get the function on screen to be able to use it,i am not even hyping the feature anymore, but all the great suggestions that users shared to make it better and this is all they did ? The DJS already has all this except for the arranger and 64 sec.,maybe they want to wait until the DJS sells more because people don't wanna buy it waiting on the live sampling update so they say "well let's postpone until we get good sales on the DJS" All i can say is i hope they make it up to us with a solid update that has all features promised and some suggested.I would have been very very, very pissed if it weren't because i have the live sampling on the DJS,but they need that mute function the DJS has, more EFX,and i see that dimmed out mixer icon on the screen that should be for something useful.

COME ON PIONEER ,,WAT UP DOE!!!!!

If the engineers were not happy with how it was working when the deadline arrived, that's exactly what Pioneer should have said instead of trying to pretend that the USERS requested the feature not be included. Personally, I would have rather the update be postponed until the feature works.

I think what everyone would prefer is communication. Many, many, MANY owners have had their hearts set on the live sampling feature being released in this update. It's been promised for nearly a year now and somehow Pioneer was able to launch a completely NEW product that includes the functionality this one should have had upon release and at the last minute, they still couldn't get it working right? Seems shady at best, downright dishonest at worst.

This is utter rubbish. The roadmap that was public on this site stated live sampling and second fx slot. I sold my Octatrack to buy this expensive brick as I was told by this site that live sampling would be implemented by the end of 2016. Pioneer Videos showed more fx and 2 slots. We have waited a year for this? Total disgrace. A con trick.

Not even rushing anymore, they already did the damage,if i were the only person that felt this way i would probably think i'm wrong, but i'm not alone on this one, they are bogus for this and i still can't figure out how they can't get this unit to work correctly, they already have the same features on the DJM so what would be the problem on this one? unless like i said before,SALES which makes perfect sense as a business person the update is probably already there but the will wait until the next update and have more features but in the meantime sales will rise while waiting,Muahahahhah (My Speculations)

"Removing" Live sampling from this update is a PR nightmare for you all. Honestly, that's one of the key features of the product that has been advertised and promised since before it was released. If you thought people were upset having to wait so long for a feature update, the fury when the feature they've been waiting so long for is no longer included in the update will eclipse it. Not only is it not included, the wording of the update reads as if it may NEVER be included. Terrible.

Yeah it’s a bit of a shocker that’s for sure.

I hope there will be some communication from Pioneer on what’s coming or at least some reassurance that’s not it.

Most people were under the impression that this was going to be major overhaul of the O.S. or at least lots of new features and this was why 1.4 was delayed.

Anyway can’t blame Pulse as he’s been here along time.Well before this was an official Pioneer forum.

Pulse,I honestly would prefer it not to be released because we have the live sampling and everything else they updated on the DJS except for 64 sec. and for an update that will upset me i'd rather not have it at all until it was completed as promised.

Is it the updates included that you are upset about, or the fact it was numbered 1.4?

@Jova > The reason the sampler was removed was the engineers weren't happy with the way things were working with it when the 1.4 deadline arrived. Would you prefer they don't release the update at all, or delay it until they do get it working?

I'm sorry you're not happy with the features / fixes released in this update, but getting angry about it isn't going to get those features rushed to your door.

@Jessie > I'm not sure what they showed at MM, I wasn't there and never saw that pre-production unit. It could be they expected to have all of those features working properly but in fact some were not (speculation). It's also possible that changes that were necessary for function X affected function Y, so X had to be removed (again, speculation).

@Jova > Not everyone has a DJS-1000, and I can honestly tell you that the agents in customer support know less about the products than we do here on the forums (we have given them training in the past!). The filter feature is new to me and I haven't even had time yet to update or test it, so I don't even know how it works.

@DD > I'm sorry you feel that way.
