XDJ RX2 Track Filter while in Performance Mode

Is there a reason that the track filter display will not show up on the XDJ RX2 while in performance mode? It only opens the section within Rekordbox. It works wonderfully while operating in export mode, but it doesn't even show up on the physical unit while in performance mode. It seems like it should work in both modes. (who really wants to have to touch the laptop in any case?)
