Rekordbox plus LAN switch

Hi guys!

This has probably been asked before but:

I have my first major gig coming up and I'm going to be using the clubs CDJ-2000 Nexus.

I want to use the CDJs as controllers for my rekordbox (I've got a LAN switch) and I'm pretty informed about how to connect the switch to my computer.

My question is, if Im using the CDJs as controllers for the Rekordbox will the Audio output come from my computer or via the CDJs to the mixer?

Thanks!

If you use a LAN Switch i'd recommend using the Export Mode to put the Tracks direct on your CDJs.

There is also a USB / LAN Driver from Pioneer, so if you want to use the CDJs in Performance Mode (makes no sense to me), you have to connect your CDJs via USB, not via LAN.

Are you planning on using rekordbox in EXPORT or PERFORMANCE mode?

It's seems that Jan meant what I sought out for (Export mode) - too see my tracks on the CDJs via the computer.

So I guess by export mode, is to show my tracks on the CDJs, but I don't really understand how the rekordbox on the PC will work while I'm using/playing on the CDJs.

Simple explained:

When using the free Export Mode and you connect your CDJs or other Pro-DJ-Link Pioneer equipment via LAN, the Export Mode becomes the "Link Mode", the hardware is directly linked to your computer. You can now access the files on your PC via the Pioneer DJ hardware or load music directly from your pc to your equipment. Rekordbox is now simply a database / storage device for your hardware. Another advantage is, that you have zero latency.

If you use Performance Mode your players / Pioneer hardware act like a HID / MIDI controller and soundcard for Rekrodbox. You have to connect them via USB. Further you'll need a license to access this Rekordbox mode. You have latency between your computer and the CDJs / hardware beacause your pc is rendering the sound and has to handle different drivers (sound and HID / MIDI input).

I was playing a long time with CDJ-2000, i've always used the Export / Link mode. You can access your database via the search function on your players or type on the PC.
