Where's The Love???

What the hell PIONEER DJ?!! You created a "premium" product such as the DJS-1000 and then you shun potential customers away by not even providing a proper forum for it.

When I am interested in a machine and before thinking about dropping cash on it, I visit the proper forums to find out more info from a users point of view. All I see are DJS threads scattered around and hardly any answers. Its a DJ product why is it not over there but you claim its not a production product, so why are DJS threads directed to the Toraiz forums??

What this shows is a lack of enthusiasm on PIONEER's part.

When I bought the DJS-1000, I was thrilled to have new gear, but most of all, a sampler that clicked with me and my workflow. I was happy and expected to meet other artists and DJs of this product but arriving here, it like Sour-puss forums. I found no one sharing my kind of enthusiasm and got mostly bogged down by Toraiz owners downing the product. Thats not progress.

At first, I planned to go all PIONEER for I needed a new turntable and a new CDJ. The PLX1000 was on my radar but this place depressed me. So now, I bought a Gemini CDJ700 and a Stanton T.62 turntable. You just lost sales, imagine the people who are interested in the DJS but get irked by this place.

I hope you guys can shape up because there will be plenty of more stuff coming from other companies this year, certainly will be sad to see the DJS just a flash in the pan.

Well, first of all, we do love our DJS-1000 users, and the reason there's no dedicated forum for it is the same reason there's no dedicated AS-1 forum; they're part of the same product family.

Besides, the forum staff consists of myself plus two other moderators. I do all the work to get this thing organized and running. I'm in the midst of a redesign for the site and have already taken this request into consideration for the product groupings, but it won't be something that is launched for a few months yet. So until that time, please continue to post here and we'll be happy to answer your questions.

As for rumours, we don't allow rumour-talk on the forums because Pioneer DJ is ALWAYS working on "the next" whatever, although even I would be surprised if there was a launch of a SP-16 MK2 so soon.

And yes, the firmware update is still coming!

IF the rumour is true of a Toraiz SP-16 mk2 announced at NAMM, Pioneer are still deceiving us for a few more weeks. Silence has come to mean they are delaying telling us our purchase has been obsoleted with a new model.

The time to buy any gear is when you need or want that piece.  You could wait years for newer models or get one now and use it, so that is your call, we are always working on the next one....

I don't think there is enough traffic in this forum to warrant a separate forum, and there may be common subjects across the Toraiz products.

Thanks for your response guys.

Its an incredible machine and I only seek better correspondence on the subject of the DJS-1000, because I want to get more out of it and use its full potential and in ways unintentional.

If this how things are going to be, then be it.  But let me tell you, on other companies forums, the DJS has its own threads and is highly talked about and users share ideas way better than here.

Good luck with yourselves Pioneer.

Thank you Pioneer for your Valentine's Day gift of updating the DJS-1000 with 1.10.  Definitely shows the love! :D

I couldn't post this earlier due to the system shutdown, but here it is now. Thank you.

For me personally i can say that most of the info and help, i have found out by myself or from friends. Not forums. As i feel its more important to show prestige then to actually help someone. Not always but in some cases. Im sure Pioneer lost several good ideas because of this. I even have printed some stickers that say "Ment by design" and that you can interpret the way you want. I learned the hard way with most manufacturers that you never can trust them to do whats right or logical. So if possible. Find your own ways to chart the course. If Rekordbox or If the DJS 1000 don't work. Find ways that does. Or return the units. As long as its not a serious software or hardware failure. Well. How did you manage these hiccups before. When there were no user updates or support at all?
