rekordbox - MIDI - USB1 - USB2 - BUTTONS keep blinking when off, left jogwheel unresponsive

When powered off, one night the controller randomly turned on itself. From then on even after pressing the off switch, the top 4 buttons next to the display (rekordbox, MIDI, USB1, USB2) would keep blinking. So I had to actually unplug the power cord to completely turn off.

When turned on and plugging in USB, the left jogwheel is unresponsive.

Took it to the local Pioneer store in HK, after one week they returned it to me saying after resetting it twice, it's working again (also they claim that the firmware is up to date)

Brought it back home and just after a couple hours the whole thing started again...

Can I somehow reset it at home by myself to try fixing it? Or how do I check if the firmware is indeed updated?

Please advise, this is increasingly frustrating ...

Yeah, that's certainly not supposed to happen.

The firmware version can be checked by going into the settings menu (current version is 2.20), but that doesn't sound like that's where the problem is originating.

Possible hardware failure aside, I wonder if perhaps there is a power issue at your location? Can you make it consistently happen at home? Have you ever taken the hardware to a venue / friend's house to see if it happens there?

When I took it to the Pioneer store the same malfunction occurred when I plugged it in to show it to the staff..

The best bet is to have the service shop inspect it again - clearly they didn't fix it the first time!
