I've had a good read through here and can't find the info I'm looking for
I've got midi sync out data from my DJ controller over 5 pin din
Set my AS-1 to slave expecting it to simply pick up the signal but no BPM value shows on the screen

Hello Anthony,
For the AS-1 to sync via midi please make sure the following is setup correctly.
To select the method to send/receive MIDI, go to [GLOBAL SETTING] and check the settings at [MIDI Param Send] and [MIDI Param Rcv].

I have done this MIDI Param Send and Receive set to NRPN and MIDI Clock Mode set to 'Slave' and it is still not syncing, I don't get it it's only a MIDI signal
What am I missing?

What Dj Controller are you using?
Are you going MIDI OUT from the Dj Controller to MIDI IN to the AS-1?

It's a Roland DJ-808 with one 5 Pin Din on the back which only sends MIDI Sync Data
There are no MIDI settings in its set-up and this port only sending sync data nothing else
I'm a bit puzzled

Do you have the latest firmware update to the AS-1?
Im currently testing the AS-1 with various MIDI out hardware and its receiving the signal just fine. Im not too familiar with the Roland DJ-808 but you might want to verify that there is a setting you have to change to get the unit to send MIDI out.
Have you tried sending MIDI out to another external unit besides the AS-1 from the Roland Dj-808?

Check that the AS-1 is receiving MIDI clock from the DIN jack and not USB: Global menu page seven.
