Ive tried on both players with no joy. My harddive and a usb stick that are both FAT32. Doesnt wan to update
Cannot for the life of me update to the new firmware 1.72. Updated rekordbox to the latest software recently now im getting collapsed files on my hardrive when trying to load on the CDJ. Want to update the CDJ firmware to see if this fixes the issue but CDJ wont start the update... stuck on "Connect USB storage device into top USB port"
Usual questions... yes its formatted FAT32, yes the extracted file has the correct name.
No updating what the hell is going on and it seeems im not the only one whos had this issue...
Please help, i am djing saturday night and need these tunes back!!!

Ive tried on both players with no joy. My harddive and a usb stick that are both FAT32. Doesnt wan to update
When loading a track onto my CDJ im getting the error "E-8302 CANNOT PLAY TRACK (3658)
This wasnt an issue before what the hell has happened...????
Make sure the drive is freshly formatted, FAT32 (which I see you have)
download, unzip and double check on the root of the drive that the file is actually named C2KNXS2.UPD
sometimes if you download new FW and you may have a previous version on the laptop it will rename C2KNXS2.UPD to something like C2KNXS2_1.UPD and the CDJ will not read it, it will ONLY see the file named C2KNXS2.UPD
I have the NXS2's also and had no issue updating so the update is fine and may be something you're missing?
Sorry for my ignorance BriChi!...
1. Why should i reformat when the hard drive is already FAT32?
2. Reformatting and then re importing everything will take forever.
3. The firmware file is in the root directory and named properly
4. Can you shed any light on the error message i get too when playing certain songs on the CDJ. It seems my newer stuff is fine but the older stuff is either missing or currupted although can play it in rekordbox!!!
Going out of my mind here. Thanks!
If the Player cannot read files from the hard drive the formatting might be corrupt. If this is the case I doubt it would read the Firmware update as well.
I think this is the reason BriChi is asking you to reformat.
You probably should try a different USB drive for the Firmware update with the update file only on it. This you would be able to reformat it without reformatting your Export drive.
I would suggest you are checking your harddrive with your Music for Errors. To make sure this is not dying...
Good luck.
Formatted another Hard drive and a usb stick to FAT32
Correct name in the root directory
plugged into CDJ when message appears and nothing still. Can you shed any more light??
Very frustrated and time running out. Please help?
Right so managed to update the firmware but still cant play tracks as i said seem to be older ones and i get that error message....
"E-8302 CANNOT PLAY TRACK (3658)"
what happens if you link the laptop directly to the CDJ and try and play the same track?
whats the tracks info, file type and so on?
Glad you were able to the firmware updated. The file error could be due to a corrupt song file or it might be due to a sub-standard USB drive. What type of USB stick are you using?
