Rekordbox "not responding" w kernel panic

MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2015)

SSD: 256 GB internal

Processor: 2.5 GHz Intel Core i7

RAM: 16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3

GPU: Intel Iris Pro 1536 MB

Drive w/ music library: Seagate 1TB USB 3 External

 

I'm currently experiencing the RGB Pinwheel and "Rekordbox not responding" in Activity Monitor, followed by a kernel panic/crash and computer auto-reboot.

I believe I've narrowed it down to playing a .wav file in export/analyze mode and then while playing selecting another file.

I did also experience slowdowns this past weekend while in Performance Mode in both standard Rekordbox and Rekordbox Beta 5. I would receive a pinwheel, the mixer section of my RZ would appear to freeze, and then the song would eventually load.

I'm reporting for others that may experience this.

I am currently cloning my drive, as my suspicion is that it's an issue with either the USB 3.0 or the drive is going bad. I have a Thunderbolt drive on the way from Amazon.  I'll update with progress.
