Rekordbox, beatjump before start track

Please make opportunity to move palyback, before start track, when making beatjump. This is very help when song doesn't have intro (radio version)

Sorry, I don't quite follow - can you elaborate why you'd want to beat-jump into dead-air?

@Bandit > Okay, I understand -- thanks for your video, and great effort with the English, it was certainly appreciated! :D

I see what you're trying to accomplish, but to be honest, I've never seen anyone DJ like that before (jumping 32 beats back from their intended start point and letting it run up to the mix point so they're 32 beats ahead in the other track), most DJs I know would just count out another 8 bars and then mix!

It's an interesting way of doing things, and I don't see why rekordbox couldn't have that feature, but unfortunately I don't feel it would rank very high on the list of changes to be made because of how few people have ever asked for something like this, so I don't believe it would be included anytime soon if they do decide to add it.

Thanks for your feedback, and again, great effort with the English, it's certainly better than my Ukrainian. ;)

I am creative)) I found one way out of this problem, edit the songs and insert some silence at the beginning ) but it is not too convenient

As a workaround, set a 32 bar loop at the beginning of the incoming track. The loop will then start again on the one, at which point you can loop out.

Serato let's you set a cue point before the start of a track, so I guess some people do need it!

I think it's logical. Why you can jump back in the middle of the track, but can't do that from the beginning of the track when you need to? And no matter it's 32 or 8 bar.

@Pulse - I have recently moved fully to RB from Serato and I too am missing this feature :'(

Mojaxx at DjCity explains this technique perfectly here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r0sImKqhxjk&t=211s

I think the reason it has not been requested a lot is that many people don't know this technique. However, I use it a lot now (or I did before moving to RB!).

Please add the ability to play silence before tracks so that beat jump works this way.

FYI- I never skip back 32 beats... 16 beats is perfect!

When I brought it up previously, the engineers understand and will consider it, but as I mentioned, it's not a high priority so I'm not sure if/when we can expect implementation.

@Pulse thanks for a quick response. That was my first post, so it's nice to know that someone out there is listening!

Moving from Serato to Rekordbox has made me realise how polished Serato DVS is now. I understand that Serato are 10+ years in front in terms of development compared to Rekordbox and I can see you guys are moving your software forward quickly so this is not a criticism. I hope that Rekordbox becomes more refined when it comes to DVS performance. At the moment my Serato vinyl seem to work better with Rekordbox than my Rekordbox vinyl do! Just can't get a consistent signal from the records, but that's an issue for another thread.

What I really like about Rekordbox is that it's a feature packed platform that I'm still just scratching (no pun intended!) the surface of and I am trying to use just one platform for all my DJ requirements- Rekordbox is the only one that can cover this.

Maybe features like infinite silence at the start of a track will become more requested as you pull more turntablists from Serato and Traktor.

Keep up the good work :)

I'm new to Rekordbox, this feature was useful on Serato as it allows to have a perfect mix for tracks with short intro. Is it possible to do so or will it be considered in the future ?

No, sorry - this has not yet been included. It is on the request list but is not considered a high priority at this time.

4 years have passed, feature is not even announced. Sadly.

After many years on Serato, beatjump over track start feels like it should. In some situations on Rekordbox DJ it leads to fail ((
