Rekordbox DVS with Interface 2 Audio Glitches: NEED HELP

 Hi all,

I started using the Interface 2 with Rekordbox DVS on a pair of Vestax PDX 2000s, a Technics mixer and a pair of Ortofon DJ S cartridges. I use a Mac Book Pro from Mid 2012 that is running the macOS Sierra version 10.12.6 (Processor:2.9 GHz Intel Core i7, Memory: 8GB). I am experiencing random audio glitches every time I play a track on the rekordbox control vinyl. The tracks never stop, but sometimes slows down sounding wobbly. I thought it was either the needle catching dust or the control vinyl somehow wearing out very quickly, but it seems to be an issue within the software... or maybe something about my mac book pro is not 100 % compatible with what the interface and audio driver requires. I tried changing the buffer size and have tested it with a brand new pair of rekordbox control vinyl that has never been used for scratching or juggling, but still gives me the same issue. I need help since I have a gig coming up!

Try this - play the timecode through your mixer in the phono input so you hear the tone, and let it play. Do you hear any wobble or change in the tone? Speeding it up / slowing it down should change the pitch, that minor variation is what you're looking for in just regular playback - this is to troubleshoot if the turntable itself is the issue or if you should chase the problem down the chain.

Next, check the calibration scopes in the rekordbox DVS preferences to see if they're round and clean. Maybe post a screen shot of those?

Tried that, and the tone seems completely fine. It changes in pitch and everything just like how music on vinyl records do. Just a few hours ago, I set the counterweight at a lighter level because I had been using it with maximum weight. I mixed techno tracks and also tried beat juggling / scratching with the new setting and the calibration scope stayed round and clean (although I saw some minor shifts in the circle occasionally). The audio has been free of problems too for a couple of hours today. Before, I would hear the audio glitches and the calibration scope would look distorted whenever those glitches happened. Now I am wondering if too much pressure on the control records was causing the sound to glitch. I couldn't get a screenshot at the moment!

Thank you for your support.

Could have possibly been a bad grounding or bad signal from the cartridge. Let us know how it works out after more time.
