DDJ-RB2 not connecting to sub and main speakers?

The guy in the shop assured me that I can connect my new DDJ-RB2 to my Subwoofer, then subwoofer out to my speakers.

I have a large subwoofer and 2 x l Bower &Wilkins speakers(tall in size), I followed the instructions and  can only  hear a heavy bass from Sub, no sound from tall speakers?

Can some help explain why I only hear from the sub, has it anything to do with amps?

 Btw the sub is mains connected.
