Can you please outline the issue step-by-step? I've tried replicating it here from what you've described and had no issues with performance.

Rekord box DVS Sync issue 5.0.1
On my 2016 MacBook Pro 2.6 Core I7
and my Surface Book Pro 2016 2.5 Core I7
Same issue with channel 2 completely freezing after sync is activated
not an issue with my RZ only with my S9 (which is firmware updated)
This issue isn't present in Rekordbox 4.
I noticed it first in Beta but thought it would be fixed but it still happens consistently. The mixer has to be restarted in order to regain function.

I will play a track normally, make either deck 1 or deck 2 master then beat sync the other deck. The moment I instant double the track I'm playing channel 2 stops responding. The track still plays in the deck but nothing but a very low hum will come out of the channel and the meter stays halfway up though no signal is coming through.

Okay, you didn't say anything about instant doubles in the first post, so that helps.
You're running firmware 1.08 on the mixer and connected to USB A?

Yes and my fault that may be the triggering factor. It does the same thing on my Z2 as well I took it through a few different mixers with the same results but flawless with controllers.

Does it only work in that direction or does it happen when you go from a track playing on deck 2, instant-doubling it over to deck 1 as well?

I couldn’t recreate that when doing it the opposite way but it surely did crash completely, I tried it on several different systems. I just think sync and DVS is a glitch that hasn’t really been seen/addressed.
