FollowSB2 jogwheels don't send MIDI signals for rotational speeds below a ridiculous threshold
Hi.
I'm using a Pioneer DDJ SB2 connected to a computer with Traktor. While the SB2 is made for Serato, I'm pretty sure that's not the problem here.
When I turn the jogwheels at a slow to medium speed, the controller doesn't send any MIDI signals, as indicated by the turned off "CTRL" indicator in the bar at the top of the Traktor window. I can get multiple revolutions without a single MIDI signal, if I turn the jogwheels at these speeds. This happens to both jogwheels. I haven't found any solution to the problem in the controller manual, either.
I tried using the program MIDI-OX to see if this is a Traktor related problem, but MIDI-OX doesn't register any MIDI signals at these low speeds, either.
I get that this might be to prevent constantly sending MIDI signals when almost nothing happened to the jog wheel, but the threshold speed is just ridiculous and prevents me from beatmatching correctly. Even a tenth of that threshold speed would have been more than enough to prevent MIDI signals due to virbrations. Surely this can't be intentional, can it?
Here is a demonstration, where I'm using one of the jogwheels in search mode: https://streamable.com/rdnh7
You can hear whenever the track jumps forward and also whenever it doesn't jump forward, even though I rotate the jog wheel at a moderate speed. (The background noise is created by my bad phone camera/microphone.) It might not be clear from the video, but I don't have to touch the top surface of the jog wheel in order to activate the search mode. I set it up in a way, where search mode is engaged by pressing shift and rotating the jog wheel, regardless of the state of the top surface. So that's not the problem either.
I temporarily fixed it by mapping the top plate of the jog wheels to the search and pitch bend functions, but really don't like that and would love to be able to pitch bend at slow to medium speeds by just rotating the jogwheel, not touching the platter on top. Is there anything I can do?
